Discover Twenty-Nine Latest Cards from Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Expansion (Featuring a Commander-Style Precon Deck!)

Everyone's favorite pizza-eating heroes are coming to Magic: The Gathering. The popular TCG's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, announced a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion at a special event hosted at NYCC. Could this be a exciting new set or yet another Universes Beyond cash grab? We'll let you decide.

Take a look here at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, along with key background. Everything mentioned below launches on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27th.

MTG x TMNT: Core Set Cards

Before we get into all the various unique products and bundles on offer, we’ll examine at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set unveiled by the developers. Standard booster packs for the set are set at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per booster.

Let's unpack a few shell-shocking details. First, there's a new mechanic called Sneak, which is a riff on the already established Ninjutsu ability, in which players can cheat big creatures into the game field when an attacker isn’t blocked. The key change in this case is that Sneak can apply to non-creature spells too. Wizards also took the opportunity to clean up the mechanic a little (It counts as playing a spell, as opposed to Ninjutsu). The original ability isn't going away, but chances are players will encounter Sneak in future sets from now on.

Should we were to return to Kamigawa, we might use the original ability because that plane is it originated and it’s a hallmark to that,” a senior game designer stated. “However on other planes, because the mechanics are smoother and Sneak is what's going to be Standard-legal, it’s probable that we'd use Sneak.”

Another version of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai card, is one of four special cards with special art created specifically for the set by TMNT original artist Kevin Eastman.

Oh, and, should you be surprised by the card text on Turtles Forever, which lets you play cards that aren't in your main deck, so was I. But as per the developers, that's now a official card in all formats of Magic.

Anyway, here are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from the TMNT set:

As per Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers say they took care to make sure the cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the development for 15 months and we knew it would be in standard and what other sets would be alongside it in standard,” a lead designer commented. “We designed to make sure that there's synergy with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”

For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a Izzet strategy built around artifact cards.

“They combine to provide the pieces for a fun Standard deck,” he says.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!

Following a decision to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it includes six distinct legendary cards that can serve as your commander based on how you pair them (five cards include a unique partner ability called “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command area instead of just one). Take a look below:

The Turtle Power deck is set at $69.99, though that could easily go up based on demand. Sources told that it includes 43 brand-new cards altogether, which means an additional 37 TMNT-themed game cards besides the six legendary commanders pictured earlier. (Doing some rough math, this suggests approximately 20 reprinted cards if we assume the deck includes 37 land cards.)

What will the Turtles edition of the iconic Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, Wizards is selling a collection. It costs $69.99 and includes the listed items:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • 15 Foil land cards
  • Fifteen Regular basic lands
  • Two helper cards
  • 1 Traditional foil promo card
  • One Large life tracker
  • One storage box

Pizza Bundle

Here’s a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, primarily because it is packaged in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Every Pizza Bundle is priced at $99.99 and comes with the following:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • 1 Premium Booster
  • 25 Non-foil pizza-themed lands
  • Five Traditional foil pizza basic lands
  • Two Foil Pizza Bundle promo cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • One Oversized life tracker
  • One Card-storage box

For those curious what a “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s basically a reprint of an older card featuring brand-new Turtle-themed artwork. Wizards revealed one for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter adding black licorice pieces onto a pizza. There are six different pizza promos available.

This special bundle launches a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This special bundle is made for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. That will get you:

  • 12 Play Boosters (ideal for four people to draft)
  • 1 Collector Booster (also known as, the reward for coming in first)
  • 90 Non-foil land cards (to build your draft deck)
  • 10 Regular double-sided tokens
  • One Draft insert (a one-sheet instruction sheet to drafting this expansion)

Turtle Team-Up

Finally, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to create Magic game products specifically for beginners. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of decks that let you and a friend join forces against a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.

The concept here that every Boss card grants unique powers to the creatures contained in the Boss deck. Each Boss automatically casts one other card each turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
