Former Red Bull team boss Christian Horner is allegedly "ringing up pretty much every team owner" as he pursues a re-entry to grand prix racing, according to the Aston Martin team chief executive officer Andy Cowell.

The Silverstone-based squad is among the teams that are associated with Horner.

The Aston Martin CEO revealed he had verified the situation with team principal Lawrence Stroll this past Friday at the Marina Bay race.

"It seems like Christian is ringing up pretty much every team owner at the moment," said Cowell.

"I can unequivocally confirm there are no intentions for the participation of Christian in an operational or investment role in the future."

Additional Squads React

The American team boss Ayao Komatsu revealed that the ex-chief had "contacted" the US-based team but continued: "No progress has been made. It's over."

The Renault-owned team managing director Steve Nielsen revealed the team's executive adviser and de facto boss Flavio Briatore was "long-standing acquaintances" with the ex-boss.

Nielsen commented: "I have no knowledge what they talk about. All I can confirm is there are no plans for Christian to come to Alpine but this doesn't imply it couldn't occur."

The historic British team chief James Vowles declared that Horner had not approached them.

"We're quite satisfied with the structure we have and it's functioning," Vowles said. "There's no cause to modify it."

Historical Information

The ex-Red Bull chief is free to return Formula 1 by the mid-next season after finalising a severance package with the energy drink company on September 22nd.

The 51-year-old was dismissed as Red Bull team principal after the Silverstone race in summer.

Several informants at Red Bull have revealed the financial arrangement was valued at 60m euros (52 million pounds).
