I can't bank on a three-year period at United - the United boss
United's manager - seen receiving consolation after May's continental cup disappointment - says he is pleased by the co-owner's extended support but stressed that the future is unpredictable in the sport.
The Red Devils' boss Ruben Amorim thinks it is important the investor openly discussed his long-term thoughts - but says nothing is certain about the future in the sport, never mind three seasons.
During a discussion with The Times in recent days, Sir Jim stated it might require the manager three seasons to create substantial change at the Theatre of Dreams.
Coming in a period when the coach's tenure has been facing examination following an extended sequence of disappointing results, the words contributed to reducing a portion of the current stress.
However, talking ahead of the hundredth encounter with historic adversaries the Merseyside club at their home ground, Amorim stressed that tomorrow is difficult to forecast in the beautiful game.
"It's certainly beneficial to hear it but he informs me constantly, sometimes with a message post fixtures - but you know, I realize and the co-owner recognizes, that soccer doesn't work that way," he commented.
"The vital factor is the following fixture. Even with owners, you cannot manage the next day in football."
Top executive Berrada has acknowledged it has needed much more time for the head coach to adjust to the Premier League after his transfer from Sporting Lisbon in November than any person expected.
The Red Devils have secured 10 successes in 34 league games with the Portuguese coach. They are yet to win back-to-back league wins and haven't finished a round of league games this season above ninth position.
The concerning numbers are challenging confidence in the manager among the United fanbase approaching a stretch of fixtures their club has been awful in for the previous two campaigns.
The manager stated he doesn't sense the doubt internally at the club's Carrington training ground and is firm nothing equals the expectation he places on the squad - and in certain ways, he would rather Ratcliffe not to be trying to create tranquility because he is concerned about the impact it could have on the players.
"It's not only a thing that people talk about, I feel it every day," he said. "It's certainly beneficial to listen to it because it assists our supporters to understand the management understand it will require a while.
"Yet concurrently, I don't like it because it generates a sense that we possess time to solve problems. I don't wish for that impression in our organization.
"The expectation I put on the players or upon myself is so much bigger [versus outside influences]. In football, especially in big clubs, you must demonstrate your value each weekend."
