The opposing team had scored first at Gillette Stadium with QB Justin Fields running in a five-yard touchdown to conclude the New York's opening drive
But the home team responded in the second period as Henderson ran in two short rushing scores before the ball carrier hauled in a throw from Drake Maye at the back of the endzone in the middle of the third period to extend the lead to 21-7
"That was a key occasion for him stepping up, and it's been fantastic for him to keep earning playing time," the quarterback said of Henderson. "He aims to be excellent."
Justin Fields found John Metchie in the latter part of the third period to close the gap for the visitors but Andy Borregales kicked a two field goals in the fourth quarter as the home side sealed the victory
